The Nikon Z7 is finally shipping in many parts of the world, and there are now several unboxing videos available, which I am sharing below. Meanwhile Digital Camera World interviewed Jordi Brinkman at Photokina. He is one of Nikon Europe�s product managers, and he gave some interesting insights about the future direction of the Nikon Z mirrorless system. More about it below.

Here are some key points from the interview:
- Nikon will widen the lineup of Z camera series
- Nikon Z will have a lower FX camera than the Z6 and Z7
- Nikon Z will also have a DX camera
- There will be non-S lenses available at lower price
- The non-S lenses might lack weather sealing, and be plastic
- Nikon Z cameras may have a 'global shutter' in the future
- There probably won't be any technologies from Z series coming to DSLRs
- For mirrorless the in-body VR is better than lens VR (Canon made a mistake)
- 1 XQD slot was chosen due to keeping camera compact and speedy
- XQDs are very reliable
- 1 slot wasn't an issue with the photographers they surveyed
- Preorders right now: 60% for Z7, 40% for Z6

Nikon definitely has a huge winner with these cameras, and the direction this 100 years old company is heading is very exciting. I'm really impressed, and will be investing in the Z system as well.
